When I joined Stop Pretending with Susan Houston, I shared a chapter of my life that changed everything.

For decades, I thought I had it figured out. Forty years in business. Director-level roles. Growing sales five times over in a slow-growth industry. From the outside, it looked like success.

Then the company sold. My health collapsed. I found myself in a hospital bed with tubes in and out of my body, no job, and one simple question: what’s next?

I had the validation, but I didn’t have the foundation.

That season pushed me out of corporate pretending and into something more honest. I began filming short reflections in my backyard forest. Over a hundred videos later, I realized something simple: everything you need is right in front of you. The real question is whether you’re listening.
